Cindy has been a part of Pfeiffer’s Advancement Team since 1992 and currently manages the alumni/donor database, providing research, analysis and reporting for Pfeiffer’s fundraising and engagement efforts. She has also served the University as a campaign coordinator, grant writer, and development director. Before joining the Pfeiffer family, Cindy worked as director of communication for two other United Methodist related schools – Lambuth University, in Jackson, TN, and Baker University, in Baldwin City, KS. She is a journalism school graduate of the University of Kansas. Cindy and her husband, Ron, live in Davidson, N.C. Two of their three children, Dr. Cathy Benson Laws ’02 and Michael Benson ’12, and a daughter-in-law, Audrey Remkus Benson ’12, are Pfeiffer graduates.

Tonya has been with Pfeiffer University, since 2014. She began her tenure as Student Development Operations Manager and then joined the advancement office in 2016. She works in donor relations where she manages stewardship activities, society gifts, and community sponsorships. She represents Pfeiffer as an Ambassador for the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Albemarle Rotary. Tonya brings with her over 13 years’ experience in non-profit marketing, fundraising, event planning and volunteer management.

Karin joined Pfeiffer in November 2019 bringing over 25 years of grant proposal writing, management, and training experience, most recently as a freelancer working with nonprofits and educational organizations. Karin previously was with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) for 16 years, as a Grant Developer and then as Director of Grants. Under her leadership, the CMS Grants Office worked with departments, schools and community partners, including development divisions of local universities, to secure public and private funding. Her team also partnered with staff to ensure sound grant management and reporting. Prior to CMS, Karin worked with nonprofits in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and the Tri-State area on behalf of children and youth, from infants to college students. In each role, she was responsible for program management and grant proposal writing.

Being a Stanly County native, Alicia attended Pfeiffer University and received her Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems. Currently, she is the Advancement Services Associate at Pfeiffer which includes managing donations and gifts to the University, maintains the Alumni website and supports special projects. Throughout her professional career, she has experience working within several industries including a Fortune 500 supply chain solutions company, portrait-photography and education holding roles as a Buyer, Buyer Analyst and Data Manager.
