Greetings, Pfeiffer Alumni!

Grady Gaston

Since graduating in 2012 I have had the honor to serve on our Alumni Association Board of Directors where I have had the privilege to serve students and meet many other alumni. Now I am humbled to serve as your Alumni Association Board President and look forward to continuing to serve and connect.

During my time at Pfeiffer I was involved in several facets of campus life; Cross-Country, Student Government, and Peer Ministries gave me the opportunity to become friends and family with some incredible men and women, many of whom I stay in touch with. I know they are as passionate about their experiences as I am, and believe part of our responsibility as alumni is to share our Pfeiffer experience with our communities so that, along with our recruiters, we can help the university continue to grow.

In that same vein, another responsibility we have is to give back. Like many of you, I was able to attend Pfeiffer on scholarship because of the gifts from alumni and friends of our University. Our gifts, large and small, help to accomplish the mission of providing quality education to current and future students. Additionally, your gifts have the two-fold benefit of increased alumni engagement; which many foundations see as a key metric for awarding grants.

Although the covid virus is keeping many of us apart, I am excited that we are still able to connect with each other through various apps. I am especially excited that soon our advancement department will be launching a platform to allow alumni to connect with and mentor students with similar career interests. Even in the midst of a pandemic, our university is working with and through us to improve the quality of education our students receive. While this isn’t the same as being able to return to the village for homecoming, I hope you all take advantage of this opportunity. I hope we are all able to return back in 2021 to see and share why Pfeiffer students, alumni, and faculty are all going beyond boundaries.

Again, it is an honor to serve as your President. You are always welcome to contact me to share your Pfeiffer story, ask questions, or make suggestions. We share a proud heritage, and I look forward to working with you in support of our beloved Alma Mater.

ALUMNI BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATIONS

In order to make the selection process for membership on the Pfeiffer University Alumni Board of Directors more transparent, an Ad Hoc committee was appointed in August 2017 to rewrite both the requirements and expectations for Board membership. The new requirements and expectations were approved at the February 24, 2018 meeting. All future applicants will be evaluated by the Membership and Governance Committee, the Executive Committee, and finally the entire Board of Directors.

Submission deadline for new Alumni Board of Director members is April 30, 2022.
